Default Perdido area restaurants

Hi all,

We've got some friends passing through town tomorrow evening, and we'll be meeting up with them for dinner in the Perdido Key area. I don't get out that way very often, so I'd appreciate some recommendations for good seafood in that area.

Since I'll be dining with non-Southerners, we'll need someplace with good menu items outside of the standard deep-fried variety.
A good view of the water is a plus.

Thanks in advance!

Felix

Fisherman's Corner for a cool funky atmosphere and great food. They are located at the foot of the Theo Baars Bridge, and you turn on Canal just before you go across it to the Key or turn at the very first left after you cross the bridge when you are coming from the Key. They were running a special and giving 10% off for mentioning you heard about them from PFF. They are a member here. The shrimp and grits are outstanding.

Oyster bar is good Felix. If you don't feel like busting the bank try either Fishermans Corner or the Shrimp Basket. There is a Crab Trap further on down towards Orange Beach also that is pretty good. We had dinner at the Shrimp Basket twice this weekend and both times was excellent.

The Crab Trap is a good place with kids. They have outdoor seating under a porch with a playground of sorts in the sand. Or they did awhile ago.

Thanks, I think I'm leaning toward Fisherman's Corner at the moment, but I'm definitely open to other ideas.

Girlfriend is now asking about the Sunset Grill at Holiday Harbor. Any opinions on that one?

Sunset grill is ok, IMO....it changed hands in the last year or so, and I believe it went downhill a bit. The oyster bar is very over priced for the food, my wife and I ate there once, and only because we had a gift card. Hands down the best spot on the key is the fishermens corner, great food, excellent service and the view is decent. Hub staceys on IPR is also very good, especially on weekends with the band playing.

For lunch, my first pick would be Hub Stacy's.
For an afternoon burger, Sunset Grill.
For dinner, Fisherman's corner.

Cobalt is nice- great view right there at Perdido Pass. Good food- better that what you would expect from what I would have thought was a tourist place. If you go to Oyster Bar or Sunset Grill go for the view, the food is only average and pretty pricey, especially at OB.
