I have four but all are placed so they can not be seen if I don't want them to. I think 15 is to young because of maturity level. What is cool to you now will be stupid to you as you grow older and at 15 friends can talk you into getting something you might not want to live with forever. Pick something out and set on it. When your 18 take another look at it. If you still like it go for it.

Personally I can't stand 'em. Every time I see an attractive woman and then see a tattoo I think "Well that messed her up."
It's just tacky and I don't see any reason for it.

my question is why would anyone spend money on art that they themselves cant see? i know some guys and mostly gals that have spent hundreds even thousands of hard earned money on tats that they cant see. if i am spending that kind of cash you can bet i can see it, touch it, feel it, and use it to benefit my family. just me and my 2 cents. but when i was 15, parachute pants, headbands, and RATT was way cool JR. Ratt is still cool by the way.

now as a 40 something male and seeing some early 40's chicks with the ole back waisteline tat that they got five or ten years ago of a pretty dolphin or that throwing star thing that now looks like a huge stingray with flaps that are coming around to the side and headed south, dont do it.

Girls with tattoos generally smoke, drink, have sex and swallow.

Now, whether that statement is true or not, that is what people will think of you.

Grow a tree to remember him by. I would NEVER let my daughters or son have a tat until they could make the decision legally themselves. My wife got a tat on her ankle when she was 18 and she regrets it everyday. To each their own I suppose...but hey seriously go to college in 2 years...graduate in 4-6 years after that (or more) and memorialize your grandfather at your college graduation. I agree that tats do give you a negative persona....but what I do know about your generation right now is that you will do whatever you want to...

Zulu, I am sorry for your loss... Would your grandfather want you getting a tattoo at age 15 or any age? Would he want you to do it for him as well? This is a tough topic with slot of emotions... Why does it have to be a tattoo? I lost my mom a few months ago and I miss her very much. In memory, I keep a keepsake that she gave me... That's what she would have wanted me to do... Good luck.. I would advise against it though...

its just something that ive set my mind into, and am determined to do it... my parents do know and both signed a release and got it notarized... and your welcome corrinas, i just wanna inform you guys that the tat is also going to be on my back.. like the eagle posted earlier, that way its not visible with a shirt on, i know im young and that im going to have to get it touched up... but im not doing it just to be cool, or to look like im a bad a*&, or anything like that. Its just to remember and memorialize a huge part of my life that will be on and with me forever... and i take pride in that, i know a lot of you guys dont understand and thats fine, i dont blame you, but in this instance i think it should at least be... accepted a little at the reasoning behind it.... just thought i'd let ya'll know the background

also my granddad and i were going to get tattoos eventually signifying each other... but obviously thats not going to happen anymore... my whole family knows the reasoning and respects why i'm doing it... i hope you guys can and not look down upon me for this action...
