Default Ol' Codwrinkle

My buddy Codwrinkle had a major stroke on June 14th. Collapsed in the Winn Dixie parking lot when he stepped out of his truck. Told me his legs felt like cooked spaghetti. Lay on the hot pavement for over ten minutes with no offer of help. Finally managed to get to his knees and pulled himself up on the cart corral railing and somehow got in his truck and drove himself home.

He spent a few days in the hospital and is now in his second week of rehab. When I go visit, he's always lying flat on his back, and it's pitiful to see the look he gives me. It's like, "Help me". About all I can do is give him a pep talk.

With his blessing, his wife has sold his three Harleys and his Corvette to make room in his garage/man cave for him to move around in a wheelchair. His wife said she didn't know what to do about his boat. I said don't do anything. He needs something to keep him motivated to work hard and get better.

I will update from time to time. Don't want to print his real name because there are jackals and hyenas lurking.

Man I hate to here this, never met him but almost feel a kinship to him through your stories about your adventures. I'll be prayin' for that old dude cause I want to hear some more stories. I'd put his name on the prayer list at church but I don't know how "codwrinkle" would go over.....

Thanks guys. His name is John, but I don't want to give out more on the internet. Got a feeling the good Lord will know who we're praying for. John's a tough old buzzard and I'm hoping he can at least improve to where he can help me help him in and out of the truck, the boat, or the golf cart so we can continue to terrorize the great outdoors.
