Default No Drinking Alchol on the Beach & No Loud Music

SRIA is meeting tonight to discuss these topics for Pensacola Beach. Drinking would be allowed in a restaurant but not on the beach. :reallycrying:letsdrink

Live Music would be kept at 70 decibels and possibly end early.

SRIA only wants your dollar at the toll booth. now you can turn around and get off of our island! they have had that attitude for YEARS. i hope the business owners shoot this down. let the word get out about not being able to have a beer or drink on the beach! so much for your "just a tank away" (gas) campaign! enforcement of the laws already in place would take care of all problems on the beach.

From what I read on the News Journal website they are going for alcohol free zones on the beach, not just total prohibition.

As for the music, I don't live there so I don't have a dog in that fight but I would hate to see it turn into a library at 11pm because I enjoy the night life out there every once in a while. All though I have been out on the Sikes bridge after midnight and I could hear the music pretty good from there.

i could be wrong but i think some of the businees owners i.e bar owners would love to have no drinking on the beach. it would put morre people in there bar stools.

The news said a month ago that the island does not have the equipment to test the deciles and if they did they do not have anyone "qualified " to use the machine. Bottom line they have never checked it!!!!!!:doh

It's hard to imagine how Pensacola Beach will survive if this passes. What is there really to do over there???? Drink and listen to good live music. The old folks who run the show will take the Beach off of the map, if we are not careful. I'm so sick and tired of this community not wanting to go forward....... We have tourist passing us to go to Fort Walton/Destin, and passing us to go OB/Gulf Shores. Wake up folks before we lose everything that's great in this area!!!!!:letsdrink
