Default new vehicle purchase question

Hello I plan on n buying a truck today in mobile I live in Milton.
my question is if I buy the vehicle am I allowed to drive it home?
I will insure it and all, but I'm worried about the plates and registration?.
Being that the DMV is closed today I don't think I can get temp tags
can I get some advice please? I didnt plan it this way i was supposed to get it a few days ago but the bank had some delays.
thanks

You should be good. Ask the selling dealership if they can provide you with a temp placard that you can post in your window indicating date of sale. If stopped, be polite and explain the situation. If the LEO gives you a ticket all you will have to do to get it expunged is to take your tag receipts to the clerk and show proof of purchase, then they will wipe it out. I know it's a hassle, but the alternative is to wait until the tag office opens to get temp.

Good luck.

Your bill of sale is all you need as far as paperwork for registration if you get stopped. You have 30 days to insure it on most policies, buy it and drive it home let the dealership do their job and registering it and all. Never heard of anyone towing a new vehicle home after purchase.

All still applies. Keep the bill of sale and get it registered next week.

I think the only difference between dealer and private is a shorter 15days to register vs 30 from a dealer. either way you'll be fine.
