OK Auburn folks listen up. Before you start bad mouthing me for writing this see the bigger picture. Take the orange and blue glasses off for a minute or two. For the record I feel the NCAA made the right decision but they really set themself up for trouble. We know a violation occured which was... A family member tried to solicit money to influence his son to play football AT MISSISSIPPI STATE (NOT AUBURN AS WE KNOW). What this says is that there is NO punishment for a family trying to solicit money for influence. So now mamma, pop, memaw and peepaw will be asking for money. And, unless the NCAA changes the by law they are powerless. I want to believe Cam knew nothing of it and should not be punished, but I don't believe it's the end of the story. Not saying Cam or Auburn will be punished just that the NCAA has ran up against something they didn't expect.

Now for the Bammer in me. I hope South Carloina beats the crap out of Cam and Auburn. And it has nothing to do with seeing Spurrier get another one. It has to do with all the freaking Auburn fans acting like they went to the NCAA and argued the the case for Cam. And it's Auburn and I'm Alabama fan that wants you to get destroyed and the dream come crashing down.

Sadly, I believe that this could potentially open up a can of worms as well. I am glad he is cleared and an SEC team has another shot at bringing home an NC. The SEC is the best conference in America! I just hope it doesn't come back and bites the NCAA in the rear.

Anyone checked ESPN on this story yet? Lots of chatter about the ruling.

Wirelessly posted

I would expect that since their big story has been all but put to bed.

I heard the NCAA offered to forget everything if Pat Dye would just go away never to be heard from again. Take Stallings with you Pat!

Joe Schad notes that the NCAA's statement only means that Newton is eligible for the SEC title game. Schad says any evidence that surfaces later could make Newton ineligible retroactively.

It's not over by any means, hopefully it will turn out well for Auburn. The thing I hate the most out of all this and other schools sanctions is the ones who deserve being punished are far gone by the time it's all resolved and the innocent are left picking up the pieces. It's not fair to the other players.

I am fairly certain that Auburn fans have never pretended to go fight the case first hand in the NCAA...however here on this forum more idiot bama fans have been "in the know" than I have ever seen. Go back and look at all the threads on this. More of you jugheads have friends of a friend in the FBI or know someone that slept with someone that did the work on the church blahblah HA! Deep down inside of your college football hearts you are so JEALOUS! You know why I know that? Cause i know someone that is dating someone that knows your CARDIOLOGIST that revived you after your heart stopped when Auburn went ahead and then WON the game!

Yeah hate me if you want to...its our year! WAR DAMN EAGLE
