When you are hunting or fishing you are in such a pure state of existence that such things as raw fish blood, slim, chunks of chum, deer guts, and other residues cannot harm you. A mere wipe of the hands/ knife on your shirt or pants is all that is required to cleanse before indulging in food or drink. For the less pure of faith a quick slosh in the water or a few stabs of the blade into the dirt may be required.

A friend of mine went fishing w/ his uncle. He was drinking beer, uncle was drinking mixed drink, they caught several fish, put them in cooler w/ beer & coke.Uncle finished his drink [1 of many],was out of ice, stuck his hand in cooler, scooped up ice, fish slime was oozing through his fingers, put it in cup & made another drink.I could not do that.
