I understand the responses, everyone has a choice of where they spend thier money and with whom they will do business.... I have had ONE bad experience at Mike's, but then again, I have had ONE bad experience at Winn Dixie, Wal Mart, the drug store etc..... I can say that the folks at Mikes are very competent and DO know thier business and products! Stan Butler took a tripod back that was manufactured wrong and made dang sure that I was happy with the end results- he went WAY beyond what he had to do and I can promise you that I quickly got over getting my panties in a wad from a bad experience before that ! He is the store manager, if you have a problem with customer service there, let him know. If he is off that particular day, try calling him. That is only fair-don't trash them on this board with out giving him the chance to make it right first . This is just my opinion, but I have faith in the people there and enjoy giving them my business.

I think the original post is a sad attempt to throw a company under the bus but on the other hand this is not the first "Mikes Gun Shop Sucks" thread on here. I have been in their store a few times and dont have a good experience to tell, I probably will never go back in there but I have my reasons and they are not far off base with other threads about Mikes and other posts in this thread. I have done business with Scotts a couple times and they have been pretty good to deal with. I guess what Im trying to say is this debate has shown up numerous times on here and I know for a fact that Mikes has been aware of a previous thread from a few years ago yet these threads keep popping up and the complaint is the same....customer service or the lack there of.

I've only had one bad experience at Mikes and never at Scotts. I mentioned it the next time I went back in there and was apoligized too and never had a bad experience again. On the other hand I'll never ever ever go back to outcast to buy anything again!!! I'd rather go to walmart than go there, I went there last year to buy a new reel and was the only customer in the store stood at the counter waiting on service while the two employees never said a word to me eating their lunch talking about football. I went back the next week and for the same thing and halfway through talking to them about which reel would be best for me the sales person decided the guy buying 2 penn 113's was more important and just left me sitting there. If hot spots doesn't have it anymore I go to academy, bass pro, or walmart!

I am calling BS on this one. I have never walked in Outcast or up to the counter at outcast that someone did't atleast ask me how I was doing. That even includes during the sale when there are people everywhere and the guys working there were busy as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. You cannot make me believe this happened this way.

if it can happen at outcast it can happen anywhere. this is the first and only time i've ever heard of or seen someone have a bad experience at outcast. but it would appear it happens a little too often at mike's.

Every single time ive walked in outcast a worker there has said hello, or something like that. If you are "looking" at something and someone is ready to check out i see no reason the guy working the counter couldn't ring up the person while you are still "looking" at the reel and go right back to helping you.

Customer service is going to shit, but at most of these locally owned shops i have found the best customer service.

Mike's lied to me once . The way I see it , they owe me the chance to buy a Ruger redhawk for $269 - after that , I'll give then a recommendation .

They do get very busy sometimes, ive bought many guns from there, they are 10x times better to deal with than Jays guns (who think they know it all but have no real knowledge) Jay himself is a good man though

Some of these guys dont know how easy/good of a job they have
