:usaflag "Give me you tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." :usaflag This is at thebase of the Statue of Liberty.

You know people are going to be who they are. They have the right to their own opinions and their tastless jokes. As Americans we have the right to these opinions and to express our thoughts and ideas. That is a part of the freedom that we enjoy, that many cannot. Now to express yourself with this type of behavior only shows that you are bitter about where the country is heading. Let him have his joke, because America is going down the road of diversity andbecoming a true melting pot of all kinds of different races, religions, backgrounds and social differences. One little joke isn't going to stop this and in the end we will see who is laughing. I have been in the Navy for 16 years and I'm heading to Iraq in April, I will step into the sand and defend your freedom, regardless of what race you are, because Freedom has no eyes and judges no one and accepts all who are willing to fight for it.

:doh One last thing, this guy more than likely loves Mexican food.

"For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected never know." quoted by LT Michael C. Hodgins, USMC (ret). "You can't fix stupid." quoted by Treblehook.

OK Guys

Let me start by saying that I have nothing bad to say about my country I did not say anythingbad I said I didn't think it was a funny joke about the hurricane it just hit close to home when I went through Andrew and the mexicans are always getting beat up my mistake for defending the mexicans And I don't like mexican food as for this country And what Tuna man said about cubans My grandfathers name Jose Muniz and he died in WWII fighting for freedomin this country my father was also in vietnam and my brother just retiered from the air force after 20 years and I didn't like what tuna man said about cubans or miami since I was born there and my grandmother was killed trying to protect her house when fidel took over so yes I am upset but you know what they I'll get over it.

I know better than to post anymore about anything other than fishing

Have a nice day guys

I have no idea what your talking about!!! Has nothing to do with (Illegal) immigrants what you said. Key word being (Illegal) I never said I hate Mexicans or any other creed. Just about the problem we have now! (Illegal) immigrants here (illegally) Have no problem if they come to America for the American dream, but do it legal just like everyone else had to do.

I do not wish for a hurricane to hit anyone. It was the foundation of the joke that we have half their population over here, (Illegally)Yes it was cruel, but it got everyones attention.

But life is cruel.

P.S. I dislike Mexican food to set the record straight.

With that I'm going fishing, and I really dont care what you think of me. I will stand for what is right and will fight for what is right.

God Save America!:usaflag

Armond, I don't know you from Adam but when you played the racial/prejudice card you stepped over the line and I called it BS.

No, I emphatically am not racial or prejudice. We all have a story of some sort that relates. Yes Ron stepped way past the illegal immigrant line in his bashing of Cuban's and Miami....jmho and that was his opinion. Ron has been on here a long time like many of us and has his story to relate, however misguidedand having tendancy to go on and on he may be, we still love him and accept him for who he is.

Then you turned right around and made it personal yourself, greatly diminishing anyone's willingness to listen to your opinion.

I left home at seventeen BECAUSE the racism was so bad where I lived. It was so backwoods, there where KKK flyers in the guidance counselors office of my high school along with hooded and M-16 toting rednecks walking down main which was the only road that even had a stop light in my town. So we all have a story that may relate along those lines. Hell, My first wife was a latina and I was married in a foreign country in a foregin language. A country that had the same kind of dictatorship that Cuba did but less known about and that the federal police routinely shot their own people.

The willingness to cry racism, prejudice or politically correctness is what landed our country in the state it's in. THAT's the PROBLEM.

To hell with being nice about it, that's what got us here, being nice. Identify the problem, determine how to fix the problem.....this is the point out gov't is at today but they can't decide how best to accomplish this because they don't want to be mean and too many people are playing the racial and prejudice cards instead of just doing what needs to be done.

Please re-read the original post by Halfmoon.....it is a POLITICAL joke, not racial or prejudicial. Different countries political response to another countries trajedy especially in light of it being one of the current political debates of the presidential candidates.

By the way I went to private catholic school growing up but I guess that didn?t help any. I apologize to anyone I offended those were not my intentions.
