Default Malware protection

My Malware subscription just expired. Are there any freebies that work? What about other free anti virus protection programs?

The economy is kicking my butt.

Oh yeah, why do I need Apple software on my PC?

Avast free and click register free and use the free version of malwarebytes as a scanner only.

If you're using Microsoft just use their free malware program it will automatically update if you want it to.

Yeah I use this...but I'm beginning to suspect it is itself malware made by Microsoft...
