Speckled butterbeans, baby backs and green bean casserole. Not as fancy as some, but, sticks to yer innards....

I always hated it when I was a kid. My grandmother would call in late July, the Purple Hull Peas were ready to pick and shell. Three families were out at the farm all weekend picking and shelling peas.

Momma would tell us when we was kids, "we gonna pick one row of butterbeans today". Damn rows were in the side of a 40 acre field. Couldn't see the end. Peas wasn't bad. Corn got a little rough.
