Default On the lighter side LED lights

Last week i bought LED bulbs for my Mag lites (2 cell,3 cell 6 cell D) they were brighter and battery life went from 4-6 hours to 50,80 ,165 (more batteries longer life) . This week after a little research i started replacing lights in the house so far iv'e changed out 2-100 spots with 2-8 watt Led spots, 2 60 Watts with 2-2 watt Led and 5 -40 watt with 5-1.8 watt Led total change 560 watt's for 21 watts . The lights are just as bright or brighter than the old bulbs. Plan on doing the rest should be able to change from about 2850 watts of lighting to about 115 to 120 watts .Has anyone else done this. Also thinking about a solar panel.

I think the light change will be cost saving for you. We are changing out the florescent lights in our house with LEDs. We also have solar panels. The next step is foam attic insulation. Solar was expensive but we hope that by the time we retire we will get some return. If not, I rationalize that we have done something to lessen our carbon footprint. My next big project will be geothermal.

I hope so we get a letter from Gulf Power every year telling us how we place with the 100 homes around us and we moved down from 98 to 97 last time i want to at least get to 40. Cost on the led is high but should last longer and over time price should come down.

You also lowered your cooling requirements. LED lights operate cooler and do not add as much heat into your home for your A/C to deal with.....

I found that out already they don't get hot at all,i estimate its going to cost about 500 to replace them all ,but it should save on the power bill.
