I did my consult with Dr's Cheryl and Trace Barton (nice folks) in Pace and had the surgery in New Orleans (Dr. Slinger). $695 per eye, 5 years ago. I would do it again - Actually I had RK in 94' so this was kinda like doing it again.

The Eye Institute for America is in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area so they seemed a tad more progressive over there. Good luck

had mine done this past summer at The Andrew's Institute. they have some sort of topographical system that is supposed to elminate the side affects that lasik from just a couple of years ago had, such as the night halos and such.

i paid 2500 for both eyes. i'd pay twice that much for what i can see now. i had 20/400 uncorrected, and now i have no side affects and i can easily see 20/15 in each and both eyes and if i really had to i can make out 20/10 with both eyes. near vision is perfect as well.

i checked into the el'cheapo deal as well. i was not a 'candidate' for the cheap price. can you say bait and switch? and i was going to have to travel to new orleans and stay overnite and follow up visits were over there as well. The Andrew's Institute was a great price (discount for having blue cross), and i didnt have to travel.

cheers.

Ditto to what Drew said as I had mine done at the Andrews institute last spring. I paid the 2.5K for the digital imaging topo technology like Drew and I would do it again. Hurt like the dickens until I went to sleep. I woke up feeling fine. Went to the doc the next day and had 20/10. Two (2) weeks later it was 20/15 and 6 months later I was still at 20/15. For some reason I always thought 20/20 was the best there is but not according to my Doc. I would defintily recommend having it done if you can part with the cabbage.

Very few insurance companies will pay for it. (It considered elective surgery)

Center For Sight, Dr. Tip McKnight. Four years now and one of the best decisions I ever made!

My wife had it done about a year ago. 1600 per eye. best 3200 we ever spent. she could not do anything without glasses since she was about 16. in her 60s now and no glasses. only thing is when its bright she has to wear sunglasses. small price to pay for the way she feels being able to see without corrective lenses.
