Default Jeep Cherokee Water pump pulley

My son has a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the 4.0 and the water pump pulley is rattling like hell and about to come off. If I had all the air tools and compressor I might consider tackiling it but I just don't want to jack with it so we are taking it to the shop tomorrow (not a dealer), what is a reasonable fee I should expect to pay for it to be repaired ?

Dont remember, but I think its in the range of 65-70 per hour.. Usually they will go look at the book and say it says 2-hours.. They could do it in 30mins due to the fact they have done it 20times.. So just cause he works on it for 30mins to an hour.. Does'nt mean ur just paying for that..

R&R water pump labor $120
Water pump $35 - 40
Antifreeze $10

Just a guess. They will probably come down to about $150 total. Job will only take 45 min.

Might need a belt or two at the same time...There will not be a labor charge on the belts, just part cost.

Default Water pump

I replaced one on my 97 same make model a few years back. I'll NEVER do that again. The shop is the way to go and $200 is a bargain to keep your sanity.
