Now if we could get the Sea Shepard folks to start riding BP's arse to clean up the oil/tar mats....

Sea Shepherds are a radical group but obviously they get results.

They haven't won yet... this is just a news outlet questioning Japan's stance on whaling "research".

The "research" may continue, but domestic support is is beginning to wane.

Are we sure we want to give any credit at all to those Sea Shepard idiots ? It amazes me every time I watched that show that they where ever even able to get underway, and out of port !

Wonder how much the efforts of Sea Shepard actually did impact the whaling operation, vs. other factors such as demand for the product, production cost, overall economy and fuel costs ?

Or, maybe they really where doing scientific study, and have now ended the study and have what ever results they are looking for ? ( I actually doubt this very much, but feel the urge to play devils advocate )

Thanks to a 5 million donation from Bob Barker they now have a fast ship that can catch up with the Japanese. I don't believe the Sea Shepherds are idiots, instead I would use the word passionate.

I don't think it will last long. It is too profitable for the japs. I am sure the Sea Shepherd crew will have to be at it for a long time to come.

Idiots? No, I don't think they are idiots. They do some crazy stuff but sometimes that is what it takes to get the point across. I am sure if they could have handled it with letters they would have.

Make no mistake,... the Sea Shepard is a crew of idiots, passionate or not. They lack basic seamanship skills "such as how to launch an FRC", and they routinely try to disable another ship. Piracy is illegal,.. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

As a PRO whale guy I agree 100%.

Unless there are some professional Ship handlers on the Sea Shepard ships that remain unseen, these morons are either VERY lucky, or it's another "reality show" with pro's in the background.

Sea Shepherd is a terrorist group plain and simple. The one time I watched the show I was horrified to see the tactics these thugs use, putting people's lives at risk. The US Navy should sink these @ssholes on sight.

Considering there are starving people in this world where this type of leadership, commitment, and financial resources could actually make a meaningful impact. It is absolutely appalling anyone could consider these thugs as heroes in any sense of the word.
