Default It's harvest time

Picked about 75 ears of Dixie 18 corn on Monday. Those stalks are at least 8' tall. That made 8 quarts of creamed corn. Lots of work. Made Red Hot pickles today. Takes a long time. Much more corn and cucumbers will be ready soon.

Lots of work, but nothing I have ever found is better than doing it your self.

Been doing pickles the last few days myself but I had a squash bug explosion over the last few days that's wearing everything out

How bout garlic pickles.

Looking good Billy B. I love some corn. Pickle sounds too.

Picked 2 of these so far, plants are looking great this year and very little bug damage. Time to break out the canner.

It is a process that takes 2 days before you have pickles. You actually use Red Hots candy in the recipe. PM me if you want to try to make some.
My tomatoes are not doing as well as yours. Too much rain.

I think I've solved the squash bug problem after many years. Finally bought the product below, a syringe, and a 18 ga needle from Tractor supply. I've been hitting the squash with 1 cc per stem every 10 days and also spraying them. I lost 2/6 before I started treating them. Worms are finally at a bay now... You have to rotate the needle in and clean it often to get it into the hard center of the stem. I tried diabetic needles, but the BT is thick and doesn't draw well into the syringe, plus you can only do one stem at a time. I can do all of mine with a 12 CC syringe at once.

This explains the injecting of BT for squash, take your pick: https://www.google.com/search?q=inje...nt=firefox-b-1
