I hope he does well, I think he will "overachieve", but he cannot run and survive in the NFL. If he gets smart and becomes a Steve Young, or a Fran Tarkenton, or a Donovan McNabb or a nowadays Michael Vick he might be a good NFL QB.

I hope he does, but I don't think he'll get smart like they did. Though it took those guys some years and licks to get there, I think it gets harder and harder to do because we expect so much so early now compared to even a few years ago. He'll get beat up too much unless he gets smart quick.

Buckethead, this is not an attack... but I find it funny that your disdain for a player seems to truly stem from the fact that they are/were a Gator. What if Tebow played ball @ FSU? What if he put up those numbers at FSU? I really think that if Jesus played ball for Florida, you would find a reason to dislike the guy.

Don't get me wrong, I admire your passion.

Hang on, are you trying to suggest Jesus isn't a Gator?

My dislike for him is fading. I think he will be fine. I think at best he will get a few shots at being a starter and be able to stay on a roster long enough to get the NFL retirement. I think it's 5 or 7 years. I hope he does well. They need more positive stories at QB in the NFL.

This hype is nothing new to those of us who have lived here long enough... anyone remember another UF QB named Danny Wuerffel. Great guy, good all around athlete, couple of national championships, elite NFL QB...ummmm no. The expectations placed on these guys is really not fair, the best ones seem to come from obscurity because they have time to develop, at least for a few years as a backup without getting beat up, and without a huge amount of pressure.

Just had to say that about the guy that spotted you 24 and beat you? Everyone has made mistakes in their life and most of need that second chance. If he blows the second chance then I will call him scam Newton.

If they had been playing the Steelers this week the story would have been how they had to surgically remove the grass from Tebows back.

In order to avoid offending anyone, I'll make this simple. I dislike Tebow for more reasons than being a Gator. I'll leave it at that.
