Default I was shopping again

I just got a great deal on my homeowners + wind insurance on my house so I figured I would pass on the info. This is only good if your home is newer than 1990 or worth over $175,000 for older homes. My home is 1750sf heated and cooled and my premium now is $785 with a 2% deductable. The company is regulated by the department of insurance regulations so it's covered by the fl cat fund which is government insurance for you if your insurance company goes belly up. It would most likley be 1 or 2 hundred more if I did not have a wind mitigation inspection which would still be a good price. I do the inspections for a living so I know the value which is why I have one. The local insurance agent is Salvator ins 850.932.3459 ask for maggie.

Come on Man, can we make some attempt to give that business to another PFF member like me for example.I represent 32 homeowners companies in the area and most likley the one you just got your insurance with. Also if you do those inspections for a living I would like to get your info, I refer all my inspections to David Greene with mysafehome right now but he's not a member , hint hint.

Tell memore.

1. The name of the insurance company.

2. Is it a HO 00 03, Special Form Policy.

3. Does it provide replacement cost on contents.

4. What about Law and Ordinance, is it 25 % or did you reject it.

I'm pretty sure some of the insurance law changes have to be behind this because I just recently got an estimate from a local insurance company for Homeowner's Insurance through Frontline and the quote is for half of what I am paying now for insurance and back to what it was before they jacked the prices up after a couple of hurricanes hit the state. I'm going to do my research before making the change but so far it looks like a pretty gooddeal. My house was built in 2005 after Ivan so I'm not too worried about wind damage, my biggest concern is flooding and for that I have insurance too through the government. It's nice to finally see the cost of something go down instead of up.

I don't care if you live 300' above sea level you should have flood in florida. A lot of my customers who really got screwed after Ivan did b/c they did not have flood and most were not in flood zones. The dirty trick the insurance companies did was to say the wind blown rain which enteredfrom the soffitwas flood damage. Since the homeowners did not carry flood they did not pay and the homeowner had to take them to court. most of which still have not settled to date. It's cheap GET IT!!!!!

Well,

I called them, and they couldn't even come close to my current policy with St. John's insurance.

St. Johns just got their rate increase. Wait until your renewal and keepSalvatorand Turtles# handy. State Farm also just got their rate increase also so I feel bad for those guys. I called them to ask why they made me look like afool by not quoting youas good as they did for meand they said you have an unusual situation. What you are paying now is better than me with your deductable. You are one of the lucky ones who didn't get dropped or switched to 2%. You need to ride that train as long as you can.
