I took the cruise last yr in sept.. had a great time.. THe only bad thing is it's an older ship and when your eating in the diner all the glass and stuff shakes.. But everything else was fun, great shows also.... Sneek your own booze on... it's high onboard..

go...... i have been on the holiday twice, i will be going on a third at the end of august. if you are used to there bigger boats you will be let down. if you have never been before you will have a blast. it is like most cruises you wake up have a bloody mary, eat breakfast, have about 4 daily specials, eat lunch, 4 more daily specials, pass out around 4:00pm, wake up a 7:00pm, eat dinner, and then gamble and drink until you can barely make it to the stateroom. repeat daily!

I went on the Holiday a few years back.... It was just ok. I didn't like the fact that we had a certain time to be back on the ship at each port of call. I think the time was 4:30pm, so we really didn't get a chance to take in the nightlife. It is an older ship, but I think they did a makeover after the Katrina victims stayed there. One word of advice, don't try to do everything they offer on the ship. You will not have time to relax and enjoy yourself. On a scale of 1- 10 I would rate it a 5. Hope this helps.

Carnival is the bargain basement of cruise lines. I've been on their ships but not the Holiday. I've also cruised on other ships and much prefer Holland America (which I'm leaving on August 2 Vancouver-Alaska ) I don't know your age but IMO, Carnival caters to a younger crowd. They are also great if you have kids. The on-board activities are fun for someone my age (62) to watch but not participate. My back and knees:blownaway would not take the strain. The Casino is full service with Hold-em, Craps, Roulette, and numerous Black Jack games as well as slots. I generally carry a 12 pack of coke and a bottle of my sugar cane elixir aboard in my carry-on. Saves tremendously on the bar tab. :letsdrink

Went in April and had a great time. They do have table games, slots and hold'em. The Hold'em is on a table, but it is computereized. You play other people on the ship, but is kind of like online poker. The rake is high so do not play unless there is atleast 4 people.

The food was great. One little known fact is that you can order as much as you want at dinner. If you want two appatizers or two entres all you have to do is order them.

Have a good time.:letsdrink
