Talk to your family doc.

One of those sleep aids might work. I occasionally take Ambien after coming home from overseas. Prescribed by a Doctor who knows I am a pilot.

It works, but only if you are tired and just can't sleep anyway for some reason. I would say that this is probably a case that fits.

It's supposed to be non addictive and for me it's true. I'm just AFU when I come home after a 6 to 12 day trip crossing to Europe or Asia and back.

Try it, it might work. Ask the doc for a 10 milligram pill first, then try a half pill.

People have strange reactions sometimes, so warn the wife first. (Sleep driving to a MacDonald's for instance.

But you need to get through the current problem from quitting smoking, a small prescription might be worth it.

Jim

I took some over the counter stuff that was recommended and slept finally. I woke up a few time quickly but that's my fault. I need to get off that sheriff email list.

I haven't slept good for years. It seems to get worse with age. I am currently taking Equate (walmart brand) of tylenol PM, with 1/2 ambien and sleep better.
Tylenol PM uses benedryl 25 mg as it's sleep med.
If you find something better, let us know!

I'm on a BiPap breathing machine at night (thanks Tarver). Had a problem sleeping with the forced air and (beard) leakage. Told the doctor about the problem of not sleeping (woke up every hour and a half), and prescribed Rx (1) Trazodone 50mg..at night...damn thing didn't do squat. He increased dosage to (2) at night. I take them anywhere from 3 hours before bedtime, sometimes right at bedtime. The BiPap machine has a automatic low setting for 15 minutes before it kick into the high setting...I never hear the machine kick into high. Sleep is great, Early about 3-4am I have to adjust the mask or take it off, and fall back to sleep till I get up. My normal hours are from 12PM to 5 or 6... There are some times I don't ever recall moving..I know I do but can't recall. I'm a very light sleeper at that.

Sweet dreams...oh by the way....I now have very few dreams, unlike before the Rx

I quit dipping in this past Jan. and it sucked for a least 4-5 weeks. I only slept 3-4 hrs. a night and even then I wouldn't call it quality sleep. My advice is to keep pushing forward and remind yourself that it will get better. Decide & Conquer.

There's a product called simply sleep it works miracles for me. You'll have to check around and find it, sometimes walmart will have sometimes they won't, same with cvs
