Garbo, read Topdawg's reply and I think you'll see where Chris is coming from. UA has some good fans but most have some connection to the school, unlike Top who couldn't find Tuscaloosa if you took him to Northport. Unfortunately, it's morons like him who come on AU message boards and infuriate our fans. Anyway they can't ruin it for us and congrats to the Tigers! WDE

Well, I'm happy for the WAR EAGLE fans. Yes, I'm a BAMA fan but I'm glad they won. One for the SEC, two for the state of ALABAMA and THREE most of all..... Now when they are talking crap about football they can look back in RECENT history and talk about a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Auburn had a good team this year. Only team I can think of that was better was the one that was undeafted but didn't have a chance to play for the NC. Now that was a hoss of a team.

I've known Chris for about 8 years now and let me tell you, He's always loved his Tigers. He's giving me congrats when bama played good and didn't rub it in when BAMA played bad. Nothing more then then ribbing I would give him.

Enjoy the feeling TIGER fans. Bama has felt the slump, UM and FSU are feeling it now and UF is not looking promising with all the shifting going on. UM, FSU, BAMA and UF will always come back just because they are football schools and just will not settle for 8-4 teams.

RIDE HIGH MY FRIENDS... If BAMA gets thier QB sorted out we will be knocking on the door next year. Just another reason you will have to hate us.

OH YEA, CONGRATS on the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!! The WAR EAGLES did deserve this one.

Screw all the talk about dirty play. I can remember plays when UM, FSU, UF and BAMA players all did that stupid crap. It's apart of football. Not needed and it hurts your team but them big lineman sometimes just lets loose. Some reason I always can understand them loosing it playing in the slop as much as they do. I can't stand a defensive back though taking cheap shots. I think they are little weasles for doing it. Most of the linemens stuff is only rough house stuff like pushing heads in the dirt and stuff like that. A defensive back can actually kill or paraylize someone with thier cheap shots.

Looks like the Oregon fans are more gracious and nice. lol. I think that last run where Dyer "wasnt" down was the game winning play. I believe they won with luck. Dyer himself even thought he was down. Haha. And Oregon should have kicked a field goal on 4th and whatever it was instead of getting stuffed. And with that they would have won the game. Many missed opportunity's but a great game.

Ahhh its not being ugly its being drunk and taking out the frustrating texts and emails I got all year up to and even at the end of the game last night. if I offended Im sorry...And no I am not a fair weather fan....I am a DIE HARD Auburn fan...

I did mean some of what I posted. Some folks on here have just bashed Auburn all year. In regards to Cam Newton...who knows...I know that it happens every day in every way in ever major program in America...Its no secret Julio Jones' mother is an Asst. manaager at a Churches chicken in foley living in a super nice house driving an Escalade...I can make assumptions but I dont. I never have really.

Please note I did thank the Bama fans and other schools for the fine show of support. Maybe I got a little spouty but what life in college foortball be with out it?

And yes it is that serious and that important!

I hesitate to jump in this conversation but I will. I was not pulling for Auburn because I am an Alabama fan and there is nothing good for Alabama that can come from Auburn winning. Die hard real serious Auburn fans have always had a red headed step child kind of attitude being in the shadow of "big brother". (Just look at Pat Dye he is the most bitter person I've ever heard) That's why Auburn folks have always banged their chest a little harder than they needed to or than was desirved. But, now is the time to it though so I'll step back and take it for a year or at least until the NCAA drops the hammer Plus it doesn't feel as bad as I thought it would.

Congrats Basazzchef and the rest of you red headed step kids.

OK, It's cold and I'm bored, so I'll add my $.02. I'm not a RABID sports fan, but watch a lot of games, and enjoy the skills, competition, etc. I do, however, have to chuckle a bit at those who take it to the extreme, especially the "WE" won type of comments. I never say that, because "I" was not on the field. Yes, I'm a fan of several teams, but really! Maybe it's some form of transference? Sorry if anyone takes offence....not my intention. Congrats to AU for squeaking it out! Just for fun.....WAR EAGLE!

Really...... Thats just stupid! Michael Irvin had a vette in college. I didn't think that crap happened anymore. I being serious. The way the NCAA is I didn't think it would be worth it to the school.

Actually, every program in the SEC Benefits from Auburns Win, and it would have made complete sense for Alabama Fans as well as any fans of any other Team that is a member of the SEC to have pulled for Auburn last night. Point being that your statement above "there is nothing good for Alabama that can come from Auburn Winning" is completely incorrect.

Due to the operational cost Auburn incurred in participating in the BCS Championship Game, it could very well be that Alabama got MORE Financial Benefit from Auburns Win than Auburn did.

Kinda makes you wonder who is really the Red Headed Stepchild.

Copied from Article explaining BCS Championship Payout:

The championship game is worth about $21 million to Auburn and the rest of the conference. According to the SEC's distribution system, Auburn will receive a $1.95 million payout, plus a travel allowance (about $2.4 million, according to Carr), for the game in Arizona. The remainder of the money will be split the 13 ways.

"The misconception is, 'Hey, how are you going to spend that $20 million from the BCS game?" Carr said. "Depending on which bowl you're participating in, you're operating on a break-even budget."

Last year, the SEC distributed about $209 million to the 12 schools. Of that, $26.5 million was revenue from various bowl games. The figure did not include $14.3 million kept by the universities participating in bowls.

I really was not talking about the money side. Recruiting, national recongition etc... plus now I'll have to see more orange and blue in Academy when I go in to buy a bait or two. I usually go in right after lunch and it kind of turns my stomach.
