TERRIBLE accident... but who is responsible?

By the way not mentioned in the article. The 15 year old "safety observer" told the father right before the tragedy "I don't think this is a good idea". The father disagreed, the 15 year old said okay.

The father had signed a waiver for his son and taped the incident.

The former Police Chief was in charge that day.

I'd have given him some small jail time. Who puts a 15 year old in charge of an 8 year old with an Uzi?

But I accept the verdict as "reasonable", just not my idea of "justice".

Question

JIM, Can't talk about this one. WAY to much not brought out... Only the media part. Seems very strange to me.

Good Idea, no. But what is the WHOLE STORY... Just like the shooting in AZ.........

Haven't heard the MAIN steam admit anything different yet!!!!!!!

I love my guns but would I allow an 8 year old to shoot a "machine" gun...Refering to a full auto, NO. I see not much fault on the chief's part....Heck the dad was filming his son so it wasn't done w/ out supervision.....No blame !!!

Civilian suit my A$$. The father was there. IMO, the father and the police chief are both equally guilty of the boy's death. Both deserve jail time. Idiots like this are the ones who make it increasingly harder for us to have guns. This is just more ammo for gun control advocates.

All Adults there hold some responsibility and should have known better. the father may not have understood muzzle flip.

whoever was in charge of this event was negligent and responsible , and whoever placed a 15 YO in charge of A SMG

I see no muzzle attachment on this very short barreled Sub Machine gun so it must have flipped very fast .
poor little guy didn't know what was coming , did not know what it feels like or how to control the muzzle flip yet

I only allow women , my grand children , and new shooters 5 rounds in the clip for just this reason , while I also hold the gun , never the full 50 rd clip even though my longer heavy barrel with muzzle brake makes it very shooter friendly

The 15 YO was not a fault and he warned the adult
Sad situation
