Default How much time should one get

How much time should one be given to reply to something they want to get/buy before the giver/seller moves on to the next person waiting in line?

i would say, depending on distance and availabilty, until Sat. if posted during the week or 96 hrs (4 days)...i know that is a bunch of "ifs" but, sounds reasonable to me...

anything i've bought or sold on here or elsewhere have taken place even quicker because an interest has usually been "i'll be there tomorrow" or whatever day and the buyer really wants what you are selling...

good luck hama...

If he answers with a time and date as he should... "I can be there Friday around 6:00 pm..." I'd give him till then plus a single extension if he asks for it.

But nothing wrong with saying up front, "I've got another offer and cannot wait... earlier is better for me...I need the $$$."

"First $100 dollars takes it..." means FIRST $100 dollars to me.

I wouldn't complain as long as the time thing (first $$$ not first "dibs") was spelled out in your reply.

The giver/seller is remiss if they do not give a drop-dead date AND time that he will move on to the next possible purchaser/donee. Or, a "first with the bucks"/"first one to arrive" stated by the giver/seller is totally acceptable.

I will tell them if you want it, you need to let me know. I have someone else who wants to see it. Ask for a deposit

As long as they can give a date (not a month or so) I'd hold it fer a while, I try to go out of my way to help folks but there are several on here that want that $$$ right then and there and don't care about being an arse. Just like those that don't reply to PM's. There is a couple active members like that and I won't even respond to their post's anymore....

If they tell me, "I'm driving your way now", I'll give them ample time to get there. Otherewise, the first person with the money gets the item. Sea-r-cy
