Default How do I increase HP on 4.7 Tundra

I'm looking at beefing up my '07 Tundra. It has the 4.7. Couple of options are a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust. What do you know? Will I get marked improvement out of these 2 mods? Also, what company or brand do you recommend. Thx.

I can not remember if D.A.P. offers a tune for the smaller engine, it makes a heck of a difference on the 5.7

A quick Google search asking: 4.7 tundra performance upgrades, turned this up in this thread.

"The engine can handle about 400 according to popular myth. I’m knocking on that door soon here.

There’s actually a lot that you can do.

As was mentioned above, gears is a big one.

You can also:
Stock air box mod
Throttle body coolant bypass mod
Long tube headers race exhaust
12 hole Injectors
E85 conversion
Nitrous
Turbo
Supercharger

With the last 3 needing to be in moderation."

Yes, I’ve been on google for several days. Looking for personal experience before I spend a bunch of money on stuff that doesn’t work.

I love my D.A.P. tune, but as I said, I can not remember if Shrek makes anything for the 4.7. Shift points are sharp, does not hunt for gears while towing, throttle response is much better and mpg is better as well!

SABM and a free flowing air filter as well as a free flowing exhaust should help it. But BaMufflers are tuned for Tundras!

The 4.7 was a carry over option for 2007 only. They quickly realized it was an under powered engine for the new heavier truck! I love my 4.7 in my 2004 Tundra. But realize the 2007 redesign added significant weight to the truck and why they didn't offer it as an option after that.

Jump in the big boy toys. Go get a diesel, tuned and cleaned up. It'll make all the power you can handle and get better fuel mileage

I’ve been looking at all my options including swapping to a 5.7, buying a Tundra with a 5.7, mods to my 4.7, and buying a diesel. I’m in a time crunch and I already have 5 vehicles, so trying to make all the numbers work has been tough.
