Default Help Yourselves

I've posted this before...but here we go again!:banghead

Those of you that can't stand thieves, PLEASE lock your vehicle, house, shed, boat doors!!! Do not leave valuable gear in the back of trucks or on the side or front of the house!!! I cannot figure folks out...I have saved 3 folks in the past 2 weeks 3 GPS units, radar detectors, and digital cameras.:banghead I know if a piece of crap wants something bad enough, they'll break a window...but most are looking fer a quick and quiet theft! Do not help them out by leaving your stuff un-secure!!! If you leave your vehicle out-side, try to hide valuables inside the vehicle....Don't leave GPS units in the windshield...most are quick attachments so take them down. Put stuff under the seats or glove boxes!!!

PLEASE HELP LAW ENFORCEMENT BY HELPING YOURSELF!!!:clap

Jason, while I'd agree with your tips, there is one I don't. I don't leave anything I would like to keep in the passenger area of a auto and I don't ever lock my vehicle (at home) unless I do. Not that we have ANY problems in our subdivision which we don't, and I don't have my head burried in the sand BUT..If a thief wants into your vehicle there is NOTHING including an alarm, (well maybe a dog) that will keep him from it. Thus creating an additional problem for you and that is breaking a piece of termpered glass (door glass). Yes, locking keeps out the, as people call them the "honest thief"...no such thing....so if a thief wants to rifle my vehicle so be it. Lockedand he wants my stereo...well the stereo is gone along with the door glass or maybe worse a crowbar between the window frame andthe door post. Mississippi has done it right......you have the right to protect your homesite and can drop him dead on the spot. As a Glass Shop owner, you wouldn't believe the number of break-ins through a door glass....only to find NOTHING was missing. Just my .02

Bill, now that really sucks. You must have a brother that is like mine...A piece of (for lack of a better word) shit. Mine has done everything from assulting a senior citizen (felony in FL)to arson, including involvement in selling drugs, for which he served time. Case in point, a apple can and will fall far from the tree. God knows why he turned out that way, it certenly wasn't the way we were raised.

Good advice Jason!

Yes, if someone wants something bad enough, they can get it. However, you lower your odds of something being stolen if it is harder to get to. A very popular sport is "car shopping". Kids,(or adults) just go around a neighborhood testing all car doors. They are not wanting to take a high risk by breaking windows ect, they are looking for a quick, silent, easy score. ANd think of all the things you leave in your car or truck......

Locking your doors will not stop you from EVER getting robbed, but it WILL stop you from getting picked off by one of these type oppurtunist.
