Default Is Healthcare everywhere a giant Scam or just Florida?

I am sick to my stomach, I can not for the life of me figure out how they just screw you every chance you get. We met our 12k deductible in January, have been paying $1650 a month for coverage. Found out yesterday due to their billing department not filling our payment last month it lapsed this month and now we are un insured, with a terminally ill child. Try to get coverage today And the cheapest is 2100 a month with 15999 deductible. That is 41000 FKN DOLLARS! HOW IN THE FK AM I SUPPOSE TO KEEP MY KIDS ALIVE?????

Side note, I have a boat, camper, truck, 4 wheeler and house for sale. If house sells first going to have to live in the camper!

Done venting. Anyone live out of state qhere they have better options?

just reread your post. Skimmed it first time. There has to be something, have you called Florida blue over on airport. I knew a person that their system got messed up and they were able to figure it all out for them.... goo lord, what a mess.

I live in AL, have BC/BS of FL and the customer service center is in NC.

Are they working on getting it cleared up or just telling you "too bad"?

Hate that for y’all. I would think they should work something out. Good luck and prayers

I think all insurance is a racket...

They will gladly take your premium but when you have a claim... stall stall stall .... not covered because the moonlight lit up a rose petal in Japan on the 3rd of September.

On top of that, you're REQUIRED to have it. If you don't, then you pay a fine or tax (I dont remember which way makes it legal...)

I've never had a claim until recently when my wife needed to go to the emergency room for back pain that was bad enough to make her cry. Got a 4k or 6k bill, insurance denied the claim. I had to go back and forth with them for a long time before they finally decided to pay up.

What's entertaining to me is that you see insurance companies on TV ads bragging about paying claims... like it's somehow a favor or a perk of their service over another even though that's the sole reason you pay them... it's very telling

If it's their fault for not doing something in the billing department they won't make it right?

Sacred Heart will take care of you. Call the financial aid department. A family of 5 poverty limit is $99k and some change. They wonít turn you away.

I keep hearing about a program called Medi-share. Sounds pretty good to me. I know I`m tired of paying outrageous medical insurance premiums.
I haven`t had the chance to thoroughly check it out yet.
