I own one. They were banned, I believe you could only buy them for about a year. The manta was one, and there was another that came out that was in more of a round shape that flew also, which was actually the one that killed a few people.

It would get caught in a up draft and with the rope being 75+ ft long you'd get thrown off the tube at that kind of height and 45+ mph it was a hell of a landing!

I know for a fact you won't get any sustained flight hooked to the ski eyes on the back of a boat under 45 mph. Hooked to a "short" ski pole you can get semi sustained flight around 50 mph with a head wind. The only problem is your never directly going into the headwind and it will start teatering back and forth, when it does this, if the driver doesn't slow down, it gets crazy fast, and thats when it either A. tosses your ass off.. B. gets irradic enough it slams you into the water very hard. I know this from experience!!!

The guy that is flying across that lake behind the short ski pole I can guarantee is going 60+. If you notice any of the vids of this thing flying it is usually between mountains or cliffs(the factory videos) where the cross winds aren't as bad.

We have yet to try it behind a boat with a tower. Have a few available, just haven't had the perfect opportunity yet.

I will say, when it does fly, its a blast to be on it.

When I first saw them they looked like a blast, till I saw the videos of guys getting slammed. You can probably find them on you tube. I got knocked off a jetski once going about 45mp and skipped across the water likea stone. I thought that was going to kill me. I can't imagine 60+ I'm to old for that sturr! Have fun, be careful.
