If the librals don't belive in guns than fine. Don't own one. But leave my rights and my children alone.

BillMe, You must have a bad attitude.

I tried to buy a tank and they gave me a bunch of BS about. I just don't get it. As long as I don't have any felony convictions I don't understand why I can't have one. Its the ultimate home defense weapon and doubles as a huricane shelter!
There is nothing illegal about you or I owning a tank. Heck we can own a tank from any nation even!

It is the big pipe on the front. If it has a bore of more than .50 inches and is rifled it is classed as a "DD" or Destructive Device. If it were a smooth bore and front loader, it would be totally legal and controlled no further than a .50 cal BP rifle.

This. I am an NRA member and agree with those restrictions.

How could the Obama WH be talking about gun restrictions? Didn't they promise to be the most transparent administration ever? They would never do anything behind our backs.

Funny thing, as I was writing this, an image of the Mao ornament hanging on the WH christmas tree kept flashing in my mind. That image says exactly what type of people we are dealing with.

The way I feel about it is I can't remember not having "some" talk about taking our weapons at any time, and yet I'm still armed and have enough ammo to hold off an Alien attack.

I can not and will not believe that any UN treaty would be able to supercede our bill of rights. And I would have to agree this whole thing has been a sles tactic of the gun industry if anything and very effective.

Gun control is a hot button topic that gets people all riled up. Politicians use it to get votes and gun manufacturers sell more guns. Hopefully as we get older we will start figuring out that propaganda is still alive and kicking in the good ole USA. I've been hearing this most of my life and I am in my fifties and still legally own a gun.

So with all these people owning there own weapons i dont see them wanting to give them up so why would they help take there own weapons away ?So whats that leave the guys in the suits to come try and take your weapons personally i don't see some pencil pusher coming to every house in america and taking your weapons . I personally just don't see how they could enforce this law if it's passed . How ever if it is passed and they do try and take peoples weapons i see a massive up rise this country is not ready for . The pencil pushers up in Washington think that you can stop shooting's buy punishing the people that do right . I don't know about ya'll but common since says go after the problem not after the people that are doing right . When guns are outlawed what will be outlawed when there no longer a problem ? I mean hell you can kill or injure people with anything . Men have found ways to kill other men since we come on this earth taking away firearms won't stop this we found ways to do it b4 there was firearms and will find ways after there gone if that happens .

I will hand my weapons over one bullet at a time a
You're speaking from your perspective in the South. I'm a former LEO who has worked all over the country and I can assure you that the view you correctly point out for MOST in the South is not shared throughout the country. Especially in our big citites on both coasts, a great many law enforcement officers and Agents view any sort of weapon as a threat to their very existence.

Especially in the big northern cities, city cops - who are frequently uneducated, undertrained, and have no reason to boast of their meager skills - believe that they and only they can be trusted with weapons because of their training. I can tell you from personal experience that I trust a rural 12 year old kid who grew up squirrell hunting, etc. with firearms more than I trust most big city cops whose only acquaitance with firearms comes from their academy training. You have to have either grown up with firearms or have much better and more extensive training with them than these departments can afford. The worst I've found anywhere at any time were NYPD and a few Chicago cops I've encountered and worked with on the range. Many in the military fall in this same mold.

I'm not saying it's likely that our own government will institute a seizure program, but do not believe for a second that these people will fail to follow orders given to them.

Rights are in danger only if you're willing to voluntarily give them up. The reason the second amendment backs up the first...

Obama actually expanded greatly the number of places that guns can be taken. I believe they added trains and parks.

I think you need to post some citations to back this up. My recollection is that Dems wet their pants when the Bush admin decided to allow guns in national parks and I do not think there is any federal jurisdiction over any trains. Maybe AmTrack, but I'm certain there is no federal jurisdiction over 95% of the trains in this country.
