Consider this concerning the economics of what's been discussed: what if we quit exporting our Gulf fishery? What if we emphasized recreational catch and were able to convince the commercial side to market local, Gulf seafood as a premium?

Maybe... the prices for locally caught fish would go up, for those willing to pay, .... and the residents would have more incentive to catch their own.

Theres a easy solution to ID fish they need to require all fish suppliers to leave a patch of skin on the fillet.When I first started going to Canada fishing you had to leave a patch of skin on your fillet,so if your checked at customs they could tell what kind of fish you was bring back across the border,and so that you was not over the limit.
