Default Green egg question.

Eggs about 2 1/2yrs old and I average about once a week cooking on it. So 125 + cooks. Iíve noticed when I close it up it continues to cook at about 190 for several hours. Iím assuming an air leak - could I need a new seal?

Hey Kevin, are you putting the green ceramic lid back on it or are you just closing the cast iron cooking lid ?

New seal kit is $20. Couldnít hurt to change it.
They also recommended tightening your bands. Lid could have shifted and be a little cattywampused.

When My Hinge pins wore out and the holes became elongated, the lid would miss align and let air in and continue to burn after closing the vent and capping it..... It was also impossible to control temps......
I replaced the gasket and repaired the hinges to stop what you described...
