Default Got a raccoon treed. Can I shoot?

I live in Midway, Santa Rosa County, not in any incorporated city limits, not in any named subdivision. Just a street off 98 with neighbors on both sides of me.

I'm worried this raccoon is going to help itself to my chickens. Got a .22 pistol at the ready.

Who knows the particular gun law governing this situation?

I would do it and make it fast then deny deny deny forever. Then again my neighbors wouldn't call since they kinda expect that sorta thing from us.

Not sure of the exact laws but be careful shooting up in the air in the event you miss, that bullet will go somewhere.

He will definitely kill your chickens. I recommend a hand trap with marshmallows, a honey bun, or sardines for bait. You will catch him the first night. Then just walk up close and ear hole him with the .22 and no one will ever hear it.

I used one of these, I don't have them anymore but someone may have one you can borrow. Killed several chicken killing opossum and raccoon.

You could always use a 2 liter soda bottle to muffle a couple rounds.

Pretty sure as long as the bullet doesn't leave your property your in the clear. Maybe Jason are one of the other officers on here will chime in.

No. You have to have a viable backstop to discharge a firearm in the county.

I take it that the coon is not a viable backstop.
