Default Goodbye to an old friend.

A good buddy of mine from the Army passed away earlier this year and his wife sent me some ashes at my request. Tomorrow will be the first time I have had to go out by myself to spread his ashes. Russ will have his own pole, and his own beer, he and I will have a fishing contest like I always wanted to do but never got the chance, at the end of the day I will spread his ashes in the most incredible waters I have ever had the pleasure to fish in and I will think about our times in Hawaii, Korea, Michigan, and Washington state. This will be the only fishing tourneyment I have ever been in that I hope to lose to the other guy. See you again some day my friend.

VERY COOL!

Thank you for sharing... don't be afraid to give him some grief along the way. I'm sure he'd be laughing!

So I caught the most and Russ caught the biggest, he would have joked with me it was a genetic thing that he got the biggest, I would have joked back that I know better, showered with him when we were in the Army. 5 Reds (no keepers) caught and one massive Sailcat, the water was like glass, and I took Russ to a private beach and spread his ashes that I will forever now refer to as Russ's beach. IT WAS A GOOD DAY !!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you got to spend some final moments with your friend Reed. He may be gone but the memories will not go away... You will now look to the heavens with a different purpose now.....
