i dont see the big deal with it, or the need for all the hoo hah. let another 9/11 go down and you wont hear anything about this crap. this is yet another prime example of mass complaining about something, but without having a viable alternative suggestion.

If you want to make the PASSENGER airline safer, stop carrying or thoroughly inspect the CARGO!!

You can put a lot more explosives in a printer cartridge than in my 14 year old daughter’s crotch!

YOU may not have a problem with some pervert grabbing your kid’s crotch, but I do and I can see no viable reason for it.
This BS about “It’s for all out security” is hog wash & nothing but a cover for an inept system made worse by liberal PC policies.
If the TSA was truly serious about our safety all they have to do is look to El Al!

Oh, a viable alternative is clearly out there. Profiling, just like El AL does. Ya reckin their airline security has been probed for weaknesses in their system? We are too PC to do what really needs to be done. Rather than invoke some common sense, let's just humiliate everyone 8 to 80 blind, in a wheel chair, etc..

As far as another 911, what about the pissed off guy who flew his Cessna into a building. I won't say there will "never" be another 911 but passengers are likely to prevent that from happening not the TSA, the pax are way more vigilant today than they were 9 years ago, this has already been proven several times. Not to sound redundant but the last 3 out of 4 incidents the perps got completely through screening. The 4th one was caught overseas.

How often do you fly? It must not be much to have such a cavalier attitude about the situation when even the PILOTS and FA's are now pushing back big time.

BTW would be so kind to answer my prior question? "At what age would you feel comfortable putting your teenage daughters through, or your wife?" I want to amplify on that a bit. Would you send your wife/kids through the scanner or have them get the full monty pat down? Seems as even the TSA workers can't even get along over this.

first?: I would put them through it at any age. kinda like when i get my sack touched by some old cold hands and asked to cough every couple years. or how i feel when a guy sticks his fingers up my girls cooch or swirls around in there with a qtip. an uncomfortable thing for most, but its a necessary thing. im not saying a TSA employee is on the same level as a doc or gyno or ______, but still its getting necessary to pat folks down, and its their job to do this. Handled professionally as possible it shouldnt be a big deal other than a moment or two of awkwardness. I dont think the scanner is healthy, at least for repeated exposure. (but i also dont eat off nonstick cookware or from microwave, drink out of plastic containers, believe in vaccinations or take medications or antibiotics, eat anything with gluten, etc etc etc.)

so we would def opt for the pat down. And i guarantee you there are just as many creeps pervs and weirdos in the healthcare system as there is in the TSA. Now if i had a centimeter peter, then i might not opt for the pat down.

and profiling helps, but isnt full proof. SO thats not a total viable solution.

heres one example, why wasnt this guy 'profiled'? .. and he was a major in the ARMY of the UNITED STATES. http://bossip.com/176010/end-of-days...se-31-injured/

you have tunnel vision... and the only PC thing about it the old way they did, with the whole top of palm instead of underhand palm lol

Do a little research on Ft Hood and then get back with me on how his peers had serious concerns. We flat out are too PC else Ft Hood most likely would not have happened. Oh, and of course he was carrying his gun illegally while all the other soldiers could not LEGALLY carry their gun. I think this rule was changed in the 80's, I'd have to dig it up.

" im not saying a TSA employee is on the same level as a doc or gyno" Yes you are. Your doctor is there for MEDICAL reasons not to see if you your toddler is packing an explosive. Anyway, it is rather obvious you have not spent much time in airports. If these were not so invasive why in the heck would you have Pilots and FA's objecting to it.

Oh, and we need a layered system of security for airports which starts away from the screening area where hundreds/thousands are standing around.

http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/F...610/story.html

I am sure your depth on knowledge on airport security far surpasses Rafi Sela. Anyway, do as you wish, the tide is running against you.

Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

and nobody's given up their freedom to gain security. You still have the CHOICE to fly. or not to fly. So technically you havent given up any freedoms. You are just having a to go through additional screenings by the airlines. If it bothers you that bad, dont fly. or go through the xray machine. or go greyhound. or enterprise (theyll pick you up lol) seems pretty simple to me........

and this guy doesnt look like he would fit your 'profile', does he>?

No, McVeigh does not. But name me a post 911 incident where profiling would not have been of great benefit. You are in denial, and the McVeigh comeback is old as Moses toes. You STILL haven't addressed EL Al, do you even KNOW anyone who has been through one of their airports much less an interior security checkpoint?

"and nobody's given up their freedom to gain security" No, just the right to go by PRIVATE carrier w/o the copagrope or electronic strip search. Freedom to travel w/o intrusive government IS a right. This ain't Europe where you have to show a passport to get from one small country to another.

Furthermore, if buses do start to become significantly more popular on short hauls, say from Philly or Boston to DC. You can bet your azz, you will be scanned/groped. You don't think the gov. hasn't already thought of that.

Anyway, I walk the walk, hear and see what the pilots and FA's are going through because I am line with them. I probably flew 12 +/- times last year.

I have nothing further to say to you other than "you" see it one way 98% of the flying and general population say the gov has stepped over the line this time.

This thread is over on my end.

good thing, cuz i dont base what i do, think or feel off what someone else thinks or feel. in other words, you have said 3 time the pilots and FA are against it, so i guess i should be too. wrong. and also i bet not ALL the pilots and FA feel the way you do, you are just characterizing them as a whole, which is incorrect. now their unions might be against it as a whole, but not every individual. so dont embellish the story. I dont care about EL Ai, and i dont care if you fly a 100 flights a month. your level of discomfort would not be any different than a granny in a wheel chair that flies once a decade. nick pick timmy and other examples sure, but fact remains profiling doesnt always work. plain and simple. and government has a role in everything, private or not. (try not paying property taxes on the house YOU own). its just a little extra insurance and an attempt to keep people safe. thats why i dont have a problem with it.

and before you 'depart' i;d like to see some documentation on this 98% disapproval figure you speak of.

So let's say flying is your only option. Maybe you have to get to a funeral or something. If you chose a pat down, would you want to be pat down by a male or female? It positively gives me the willies to have another man's hands anywhere near my junk.
