Default Full body scans at airport... Take a look...

Ok, not what you thought. However, I did get to thinking about these because I just went through one about two weeks ago at the Las Vegas Airport. I was doing a little research on the dangers of them and ran across this video and it scares the hell out of me... Mind you, how many times have any of you ever heard me emphasize anything so emphatically. Just wondering how the rest of you feel about it.

Sorry it's not about fishing...

OK... I give, it would be cool to be the one running this unit on Pensacola beach... But talk about invasion of privacy. Kelvin-- Wanna try to crank the boat tonight or tomorrow and go fishing?

My wife and I flew eight times from Sept 7 to October 7, we were all over the USA and Canada. With these new strip search machines out there is NO WAY she nor I will be going through one. Nor will I or my wife be humiliated by the pornographic groping by a government goon.

This technology was developed by SAIC where my BIL who has a masters degree in EE worked. He quit recently as he was asked to be CEO of another company. The PILOTS need to refuse to fly. This has got to hurt the airlines or the gov is going to continue to see how many of your rights they can strip (no pun intended) away.

Oh, and the gov has not released a photo taken by a machine in full resolution. Since this is a family friendly forum, I will refrain from quoting what the TSA guys are calling them but you won't find it funny, especially if you or your wife/kid is going through. I am GLAD people are raising h-ll about this invasion of privacy. Oh, and if you fall for the line, it is for our safety, El Al is laughing their azz off, they profile. We grope/scan grandma and grandpa.

Rant over...

Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the
airports:

All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will NOT
X-ray you, but WILL detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or
in your body. The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth. This
would be a win-win for everyone. There would be none of this crap about
racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.
This is so simple that it's brilliant.

TSA = "The Sexual Assault" (On Children?!)
From Gizmodo....

Yes, that's this (fictional) book cover as a desktop background - on a TSA computer monitor in an airport.

You're going to sit for this America?
You're going to walk through a full-body strip-searching device? To consent to this sort of thing - whether done "virtually" (with an X-ray machine) or literally (with gloved hand)?
Tickerguy's opinion: IF YOU SUBMIT TO THIS SORT OF CRAP, YOU'RE NUTS!

From Denningers Site if you have been around long enough to know him.

NO way am I submitting to their BS, if I had kids it would not even be in the realm of consideration.

LOL... where's Karl when you need him... But on a serious note, I can somewhat buy the full body scan in airports, but let's think about this van for a second. How many on this board and many others have said that the only way the government will get my guns is over my dead body. Well, you can't watch them 24/7 and with this kind of technology, it's not real tough for the government to know when your home and where you keep your guns. I guess I'm going to have to budget for a celler now I can't imagine why there is not more of an uproar than there is now over this. It's definitely time to clarify ammendment 9 of the Bill of Rights as it's way to vague in it's current form...

I think it has alot of merit, from the point of border crossings, ports and the such. There is not much we are going to do about it, since the pharase "in the best interest of national security" rules.

where in the video does it mention full body searches? Did I missed somthing?

Default Scanners

The TSA's workers joke about these machines as being ..ickd measurers. So, for all of you in favor of these machines, riddle me this. At what age would you feel comfortable putting your teenage daughters through, or your wife? Remember, nobody on the net has seen the full resolution of these machines, that has not been put in the public domain so it probably is classified.

Furthermore, the last three out of four incidents got COMPLETELY by the TSA, the fourth one was caught by overseas security. As I said, El Al is laughing their ass off. Profiling is the only realistic answer. Feel free to give up your privacy inch by inch, I value mine too much to be persuaded for "national security" when you look at the record of the TSA, it is a frikkin joke.

As far as border crossings, I have been through 10 +/- (lost count) checkpoints within the last year. I will take those any day over an airport copagrope.

Every time I fly I get pissed off at the total inefficiency of the TSA. Hell they didnt even know what a TWIC card was till I flipped it over and said its issued by YOU guys..........
This body scanner crap is about the last straw.
Putting kids and the elderly , hell anyone, thru that BS is totally unacceptable.
I think its going to come to a head pretty quick though. People are getting pissed. May be a day of shut down the airlines is whats needed. May be some good old civil disobedience.

Things are going the wrong way in this country and this is only one of them.....

I guess Congressman Miller likes pat downs and xray machines or he has a special lane Congressman can go thru, cause hes been very very quite on this matter.

They need to start profiling the nationalities that crashed the planes into the World Trade Center and leave my 12 year old daughter alone!!

Rock on
