Default FSU Ducks Unlimited Chapter

Ducks Unlimited is the worlds leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation whose mission is "to conserve, restore, and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North Americas waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people."

On behalf of the Ducks Unlimited national organization, Florida State University's chapter is a major contributor to such efforts. Soon we will be holding our annual Ducks Unlimited banquet in which we plan to raise a majority of our funds. We are inquiring as to if ------------- would donate any
merchandise that we can raffle off or sell at our silent auction. We would be
more than happy to display a ------------ banner at our banquet for your
benefit. Any and all of your donations would be much appreciated. We thank
you for your time and contributions in this matter.

does the ducks unlimited support the hunting of waterfowl?

does the ducks unlimited allow duck hunters to hunt the fly ways of wet lands they lease?

Ducks unlimited is a non-profit international organization aimed towards the conservation of wetlands across the globe. DU was founded by duck hunters and continues to support hunting, conservation, and preservation of wildlife. All land aquisitions have the environmental, and biological backing to be proven as needed conservation locations. With nearly 12 million acres of wetlands across North America, DU is ensuring the health and well being of our duck population as to also conserve the right to hunt them. When DU first aquires land they only aquire the rights to conserve the habitat on it. However with the land and the rights they gain they also eventually sell the rights to a government agency such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service who in turn will usually incorporate the land into some form of a park, such as a WMA. DU is a stakeholder in the rights as well to make sure the conservation or restoration efforts are maintained. In many cases DU oversees an extensive wetland restoration projects associated with the land and more often then not the land is auctioned off after the duration of the restoration. As far as hunting these parcels of property, some of the land is of limits to hunting as it is either deemed a critical nesting area or the land is in the midst of restoration project awaiting auction at a later date. Some parcels are also permanantly off limits to hunting due the their natural conservation attributes. So to answer your questions, yes, yes, and yes.
