Default A new favorite place for lunch

Decided to go try Porchetta's for lunch after seeing this post.

I had: (copied from their website/menu)
THE BANH MI SANDWICH! #4
THE BANH MI SANDWICH HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! AND NOT TOO SOON FOR THE BANH MI AFFICIONADOS. THIS SANDWICH USES OUR FRENCH VIETNAMESE BAGUETTE LIKE WE USE IN OUR BIG DADDY SANDWICH. IT IS MADE WITH OUR ROAST PORK ON ONE SIDE, KIM CHI ON THE OTHER SIDE, PICKLED DAIKON RADISH AND CARROTS DOWN THE MIDDLE WITH FRESH JULIENNED CUCUMBER (SEEDS REMOVED), WITH A SPRINKLING OF SPECIAL SAUCE AND THEN FRESH CILANTRO ON TOP AND FINALLY TOPPED OFF WITH SWEET AND HOT PEPPER SAUCE. IS THIS SANDWICH HOT, NO NOT REALLY, JUST FLAVORFUL WITH A GARDEN OF VEGETABLE DELIGHTS. A WONDERFUL SANDWICH

Wifey had:The pasty

Son had: (copied from their website/menu)
THE KITCHEN SINK SANDWICH.
A HUGE ABOUT 30 SQUARE INCH SANDWICH SITTING ON A 9 INCH PLATE. THE SANDWICH STARTS OUT WITH A CHEESE CRUSTED BREAD, SLICED THROUGH, MAYO, HOT PORCHETTA, 2 SLICES SWISS CHEESE, HOT SEASONED FRENCH FRIES TO MELT CHEESE, THEN 2 SCOOPS OUR FRESH HOMEMADE COLE SLAW, THEN 3 TOMATO SLICES THEN THE TOP BREAD

Plus chips and a drink with each. WE all wobbled out FULL. The wife could not finish the Pasty it was so big (took half home).
Great prices and wonderful conversation. We will definitly be making our way back again soon and would recommend it to everyone to try. http://www.porchettas.com/

Porchettas is hands down the best kept secret I have ever discovered. I wish they had it in Auburn when I am back in school. I think they would sell the hell outta some sandwiches on game days. I regularly drive over an hour from my house in Fort Morgan just to get the cuban.

I've been there several times and haven't been able to get past the Big Daddy. I need to venture out and try something else.

+1,

However I have tried the cuban and the pasty, but I am a Big Daddy guy.

Went for lunch today and decided to go big or go home and ordered TWO cubans. As usual, very pleasant conversation with the owner (Allen). I'm gonna say it like this-if you have not been to Porchettas yet, you are straight doing yourself a disservice and are cheating yourself at life. Best lunch place ever.
