If he perjured himself I can get in board, but I’m not sure how I feel about charging him with child neglect. That was a pretty dynamic situation. He made bad decisions, but criminal ones???

That was not the time for him to decide he didn’t want to be a cop.
What was he trained to do, run toward the gunshots or wait for backup?
I don’t know the answer, but I would think, being a school resource officer, that he was trained to stop the threat. I would hope so anyway.
I would not want to carry his burden for the rest of my life.

As an average Joe blow, I would have went in to see if there was something I could do to stop it. Like welldoya said, that was not the time or place to decide you didn't want to be a cop. My LEO friends charge into those situations, not cower and wait.

It's been decided by the SC and multiple district and appeal courts that LE does not have a legal duty to protect anyone! This is a bad arrest other than the purgery stuff etc...

I don't want any government employee being legally responsible for my protection either! I want the ones that want to do it, not the ones forced to. Not everyone is willing to run into danger! Some run away from it! Just natural!

But if they say a government employee (ex: LEO) has to legally protect me, then what is to stop them from eventually saying I no longer need "tools" for my own protection!

Supreme Court has rulled on this and it's a bad charge/arrest if you ask me. No matter how much of a coward worthless POS the guy is.

Part of the change says an officer responding to a shooting "shall" intervene in a situation in order stop the attacker, according to the letter, which was obtained by NBC News. Previous language, according to the Miami Herald, said an officer "may" intervene.

That's a policy to get you fired if you don't do something your employer/job requires of you when you get hired on! It's not a law to bring criminal charges against you etc....
