Default Flashback because of the JOTD

The JOTD brought back this life event to mind -

It was the summer of 76, I was 13 and had this "girl next door" girlfriend - we'll call her Sherry. We were big time and it was summer break - we were carrying on like grown ups, smoking, passionate making out, etc.

Sherry's Mom was a good looking woman who was often at home when I would visit. Her Mom would wear skimpy clothing, flirt with me a bit, and was always touching/hugging/rubbing on me. And I loved the attention - afterall what schoolboy didn't have the "older woman" fantasy?

So this one day, I went to Sherry's house but her Mom said she was out. Mom added Sherry would be home soon, and asked if I wanted to wait and offered mea drink. "Sure", I replied, and sat on the couch with my drink; Sherry's Mom sat down right beside me - my heartbeat was elevating. We talked and laughed about whatever, at which time I got the big idea to "make my move" - with my heart pounding, I put my hand on her thigh. Well that was a mistake - the conversation halted and she took my hand from her thigh; she added, "I think you better leave". Talk about embarrassment and awkwardness.

Anyway, not sure what the lesson was there - maybe I was too bold and should have let her make the move or maybe I was reading into the whole thing -whatever. Things were never the same between me and her Mom - she was cold to me after that. No scarsbut it was my first big flamer in my many "shot down in flames"episodes.

It was funny then and is still funny upon reflection(at least to me)....the JOTD brought that event back to mind...thought I would share.

Nope - never was mentioned. The big romance only lasted that summer...it was my "coming of age" summer - I think most of us have a summer like that when we are teenagers...

You should quit your day job and start writing some of those sappy love novels. Great read but shitty ending.
