As bad as I want to go tonight, sanity in the form of the wife has convinced me the weather is too bad and to wait until next weekend. My beef with Uncle Sam is the following clause I had incorporated into the contract.

* All antiques (mason jars, old farming equipment, or anything on the property) shall be left alone and not disturbed.

I have two old stills (long since blown up) on the property with hundreds of old jars around them that I've been collecting for years now. I also pick up all kinds of old farming equipment, some rusted beyond recognition, but it's still neat stuff to find. An old Indian trading post was just yards from my property and the old trail cuts through part of the property. Jason actually found a nine foot saw up there when he went up with my son last year and he can vouch for the antiques. Obviously, running a tractor through the property is not something I'm agreeable to. Especially when you top that off with the possibility of increased poaching; not to mention starting nearly a month early and duing the final throws of the GA hunting season. Boy, it sure is nice to have someone to bounce all of this off of...

The problem now becomes I darned if I do and darned if I don't as I'll certainly be negligent if someone gets hurt on the property by a UXO if I don't allow them to search. Unbelievable...

Btw, anyone happen to have an app that will post to both forums

I feel for you... in the right place "old junk" is very cool to see. I find myself imagining who might have ridden an old rusty bike in a garden near me. Or who drove that old car in the weeds along a county road.

Now I'll say, a "car on blocks" in suburbia is out of place, though if "suburbia" grows out to the car on blocks I've a different view.

I hope it works out for you.

Strange situation to me , however i would secure my perimeter , block all access in or out , and move out of harms way , plant hidden Game cameras to document everything that happens

sounds like they feel you have relinquished your authority to your land

Thank God you found out what was going on. My next question to you was, did you apply for that "Gitmo Relocation Program".... Glad you found out who the culprit was...... It could have turned out a lot worse....... Safe travels to you.... TB

Sorry to hear that Tarver. I am not a lawyer but doesn't the government have something called "Eminent Domain"? I don't know anything about it. When I was young the government approached my dad and told him they were going to run a highway through his property. He didn't want his little paradise invaded so he said "No Thanks" They said, "Not your decision, we can claim eminent domain and pay fair value" Anyway after a while they rerouted the highway and things were left the way they were. I don't know if that can have anything to do with what is going on.

By the way, how are you doing? Beside the whole land raping thing.
