EAAA Stargaze at Ft Pickens Jul 22
If anyone's interested in attending, the Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association will be setting up telescopes and binoculars for free pubic viewing this coming Friday night, weather permitting. The event will be at Battery Worth parking lot and run from sunset until around 11pm.
Some objects that will be visible include Saturn and it's beautiful rings as well as many deep space objects such as nebula, star clusters and galaxies millions of light years away.
Dr Wayne Wooten, astronomy professor at PSC and UWF may be there to give constellation tours and point out passing satellites. All this is free to the public although the NPS charges to get to the Fort. You can come by boat and land very close on the bay side at Battery Worth too.
Everybody's welcome to come out, bring the family and spend an evening with the local astronomy club observing the wonders of the night sky. If you have a telescope you're welcome to bring it out too. If you're one of the many that has a scope but has no idea how to use it we can help you out there as well.
Any questions feel free to PM me. Come on out and bring plenty of skeeter-be-gone. All this is of course depending of clear skies.

Any of you on the forum with kids, this is a good family outing that is also educational. I took my daughter when she was in elementary and middle school and she loved going. I like to see the rings of Saturn too so weather permitting I will try to get out there. Thanks for the information post.
