Default EAAA Ft Pickens Stargaze May 18

Once again the local telescope toters will be setting up at Battery Worth at Ft Pickens this Friday evening.

Saturn is close to opposition, big and beautiful showing very pronounced planetary banding as well as it's beautiful ring system. If you've never seen Saturn through a quality telescope you're missing one of life's spectacular views. Everybody should at least see it once and Friday night is the perfect time.

Mars is big and bright overhead and being a relatively dark sky site we'll be viewing nebula and starclusters thousands of and galaxies millions of, light years away.

Again everyone's invited to come out and join us for an evening of stargazing and constellation tours by Dr Wayne Wooten, PSC astronomy professor and EAAA club sponsor. Battery Worth is the first right after the camp store.

Stop by my rig and say hi, I'll be the one with the big, white Meade refractor telescope.

Well, the clear sky clock is showing clear skies and good transparency for tomorrow night. This will be one of the best chances you'll have to view the ringed planet this year.

Bring skeeter spray, they're vicious out there.
