Default Driving on the beach?

Are there any beaches around here that you can drive on? Or have they closed them all down to vehicles??

The Atlantic side we drove on the beaches (Jacksonville and Daytona) but other than Walton I can't think of anyplace on the gulfside. Before the no parking signs went up along the road toward Ft. Pickens I would see folks stuck in the sand giving lots of business to the wrecking trucks.

if you are a park ranger you can drive around on the beach and tell people to "stay off the dunes" and "you cant be in this area there are nesting birds and sea turtle nests you might step on one." they have completely closed the road and AREA west past the private part of navarre beach. no bike, no walking, no nothing. before issac they had signs planted literally every 25 ft telling you what you can not do on public land. it really spoiled the view.

BUT if you want to build a very large complex of condos then come on down. we will work something out.

If you have noticed there used to be parking across from where the Portofino towers are located. Now there are signs up and down the right a way.

Also, if you're putting on an event like Deluna Fest you can bring big front end loaders on the beach and move that pretty white sand around as you please.

It just depends on who's pockets you grease.

1. only if you own property in Walton county, 2. permit is only good at Grayton beach, a small area, 3. there is a moritorium on new permits.
In other words, only a select few have the permits. Sea-r-cy
