Is some great stuff. It lights easily, burns hot, doesn't smoke, and doesn't have a lot of crap in it. Thanks Sky for the 20# bag with the new egg I got from you. I will be back for more.

I''ve also used BGE brand, Royal Oak, Cowboy, and Publix brand. Cowboy is horrible. Publix is actually decent stuff.

Dragon Breath is awesome.....I use Royal Oak most of the time though since I don't run to Pcola during work hours much!

They used to carry BGE charcoal. What happened.

Jim

I bought my BGE there, bought all my accessories there, bought a new gasket and borrowed their glue just yesterday, returned it today. I live on the west side, I buy from a local ACE hardware and agree that "Cowboy" flares too much at first, and if you stir heavily. But I use it carefully and it works well if you are "careful". Publix brand is smaller but works well, yeah I'd say better too, but more expensive. Did BGE stop selling charcoal. They used to carry the BGE brand.

I burn oak, and when I have good bed of coals i commence to cooking. Dont cost nothing, no charcoal in a bag, no lighter fluid, not a single tax. Actually folks been cooking like that for thousands years. No kingsford charcoal and lighter fluid, all that is nonsense....

PS...

Best way to remove the old gasket... a wire brush attachment on a drill. Scrape first. Though you can remove the glaze on the rim if you try too hard.

I saw the BGE brand there too, but glad they gave me the DB. I believe BGE brand is made by Royal Oak,
