Nothing in/on PNJ or WEAR website... imagine that.

Bad news regardless.

I heard the Coast Guard Diver in distress call yesterday on the radio and I am wondering the same thing, why so little coverage and can't find anything on the story.

I don't know why theirs no information. I wish i had looked at the name of the boat. the guy was telling me about it while i was putting the straps on my boat about 1 or 1:30 yesterday ,he said he was on their boat. He left me with the impression that the diver was dead.

USCG had a one sided conversation (I could only hear CG, but was within miles of the boat's stated location) with an unnamed boat for about an hour, losing contact with them several times before directing them into pass and escort by a CG Small Boat. CG never repeated the nature of the diver's distress or any details, but it was an obvious ongoing situation. Finally USCG Mobile came on and cancelled the original PON PON f rom early in the day, but again gave no details. Best kept secret, as CG usually repeats details for confirmation, so you can follow, even on one sided conversations. Hope some details emerge.

This is weird, the first thing out of the guys mouth was "we lost a diver today" then told me he was dead. I can"t see that not being on the news.
