VICKS vapo rub under the nose... if you are real sensitive to odor, IN YOUR NOSTRILS...

Rubber gloves are nice... take a double garbage bag up with you... use a dust pan for a scooper upper...

Then drink mass quantity of adult beverage...

LOL WOW. Did you seriously call someone to get it for you? Be a man, throw on some gloves, grab a trash bag, and do it yourself! Probably a possum or squirrel, depending where you live.

Ha, no. I am man enough to do it. I just called to see how much it was in the worst case i could not find the dead goods. My guess is a Roof rat, or wood rat as some call it. We have had problems with them in the past. I live on a lake, lots of critters around.

Adult beverages will be on stand by. If anyone wants to come help, i have plenty to drink.

Also wear old clothes. Pair of pliers would also help pick up the dead critter. If the critter is laying on top of the insulation then remove the insulation all the way down to the sheetrock. The juices will sometime leak out. Using a dust mask will help keep the fiberglass out of your nose while scooping insulation, especially if you use the Vicks trick mentioned before.

If I were closer, I would do it fer a 12'er...

A decade+ in the pest control industry...
But the worst was a 75lb GSD I shot when he was constantly comin' from some where and beatin' up a little dog who had claimed our house as his home... GSD ran off to die under a neighbor's house.

Near a week later they smelled it... It was too bloated to fit thru the hole he went under so I had to "deflate" him with my knife...

Needless to say... IT WAS RUFF!!!

everybody has different levels of tolerance, for different things.

My Motto:

" if its going to take more than 3 F-Bombs to ge to the end of job, get somebody to do it for you "

Was not able to sniff out the dead animal. It was weird. The smell was worse in the room than the attic. Maybe it is in the wall? My stand point is that it is a rental, my landlords dont want to help me with it at all. So it can just sit there until it stops smelling. I dont use that side of the house (converted garage sealed off from rest of house). Thanks for all the suggestions gentlemen.

Very highly likely can be in a wall...

Especially if there is rat bait in the attic.

Usually odor from a rat size animal will be near nothing in 7-10 days...

We carried a high power fragrance... We could soak a doubled up paper towel in it and put it near the odor and it would cover the odor for the week.

I am guessing this is a slab home for sure...

Yes it is a slab house. I will put some smell good in there and let it rock out.
