Default Craigslist scams?

Anybody know the deal? I had a Rolex on craigslist for a little over 6 grand, I had 3 people respond agreeing to buy it sight unseen for asking price plus shipping. All 3 out of town buying as gift insisting to pay with paypal, all 3 emails sounded a little off so I insisted on western union or money gram all 3 disappeared. How do they plan to rip off people by paying through paypal? Maybe a stolen credit card? Any knowledge or thoughts on this?

Had a buddy sell some golf items on ebay and was paid through paypal. Shipped out in prime condition but receiver filed a claim with Paypal they we not as described so Paypal debited his account. He never received payment or received the item back. I would google Paypal scams and see what pops up.

This is one of the ways I've heard people get scammed. From what I've heard, Paypal will side with the person buying the item most of the time. They file a claim that the item wasn't as described or something like that, they get to keep the item and you never get your money.

The real question is who the hell would sell a Rolex on Craigslist, and he wants to make fun of Alabama fans. Go ahead and run the Alabama fans couldnt afford a rolex or some crap like that.

Bingo! Heard about that before. Paypal is a joke and happy to rip you off. Brand NEW items are done the same way. Try getting you money from PayPal. May as well kiss it goodbye

Everytime I have listed something on Craig's List that was worth more than a couple of hundred dollars, I have received an offer to buy within a couple of hours. And it was never "Hey, can I come over this afternoon and look at it and pay with cash?"
It was always something very involved , out of town, on vacation, pay with cashier's check, blah, blah.
No way would I sell anything on Craig's List that wasn't face to face with cash. Craig's List is a hotbed for scammers.
And just because you can't see how they could cheat you doesn't mean they won't cheat you. These people are pros. Be very careful.
