Default Country Dancehall?

Hey folks,

My better half is in town this weekend and I'd really like to take her dancing. Does anyone have a country dancehall they could recommend either in Pensacola or Mobile or somewhere within driving distance?

Thanks in advance!!

I hear a lot about the Chumuckla Opry, and it sounds like a lot of good old country fun. Only about 20 minutes east of Pensacola in Pace.

Whatever happened to Shooters(?) ? It was in Pensacola off Hwy 29 behind the Ford dealership. I can get there but I may have the wrong name in mind. Theres The Block over in Ft Walton Beach on Eglin Pkwy a few blocks north of 98. They USED to be an all country bar but new management hacked it up a few years ago to attract more customers. Now its a karaoke/country/rock/biker bar. 4 things that just dont normally go well together. Too bad too, it WAS great place before that happened.

You wont find dancing going on there.
Mostly a sit down and listen, dinner with music following music hall.

Doesnt surprise me. Last time I was in there there MAY have been 20 people on a Saturday night. Ive seen hole-in-the-wall joints with more people than that and that was several years ago, as a matter of fact, I think the Carousel Lounge was still open the last time I was in Shooters. Last time I was in that area the Carousel was a bingo joint.

The Chumuckla Opry is OK if you just want to eat a home-cooked meal and sit and listen to a band for an hour or two but it's pretty tame. No dancing and no alchohol.
Chan's on 9 mile has a country type atmosphere. I went there once a couple of years ago. Not a place I would hang out but the younger people seemed to be having a good time.

Stop by house and let me issue u a knife and gun. Got good deal on that 550, overdrawed in checking acc. Disability only pays once mo. U need to come see new boat riggep up anyway.we got to get up with ea other, tired of 16mile ride, got stuck at sanders last wk also. If the better half likes fishing, this bigger boat rides good, roomy, doesnt wet u or jam your back, 550 45.00 this wk
