Any weekend morning or even better, late afternoon, go to any public boat ramp & bring a camera!

While you are up there. Go find where northsouth 3 notch trail intersects eastwest old spanish trail/coldwater horse trail way out in the woods. Back in 1800 that would have been the action place. Walmart never found it yet. You can google map it. Wonder how many 1000's crossed that intersection out in the middle of nowhere back in those days.

The majority of the time, if they own a fishing boat they have plenty of rods and reels and will most likely spot you one for the trip.

How long are you down here for?
Thanks man, I be here until xmas or whenever my mother gets tired of me helpin her out. plan on going back to classes at Georgia Tech in the Spring. Currently driving back and forth to Atlanta every so often to take Test and such.

I would love to go Fishing with someone that would tolerate a complete newb! also if anyone wants to go Shooting I'm willing to show people how to shoot if need be, never been to a range down here, but can't hardly drive to Atlanta everytime i want to shoot at my range.

If you'll notice I started by saying "I don't now your situation" which means I acknowledge that you could be paralyzed, blind, home for only a month, etc. Those circumstances would change my advice drastically. However, given the content of your post, you seem to simply be bored and looking for something fulfilling to do. Take it or leave it, but now is not the time to be "resting" for 6 months and living off of savings. Given the current economic situation of the US and of the world, the prudent thing for you to do is save, not spend. You can still do everything you want to do while home with your mom, but you will end your stint here with a positive cash balance rather than a negative one. 6 months is a very long time to eat your savings.

I suggest you call someone like Dave Ramsey and see what he thinks. I bet he'll judge and preach at you too.
I understand what you are saying, believe me I do, but some things are more important then money. I don't like being poor, i don't like that my mom is now having to support her self. A big pile of cash would do us both alot of good. but money can't fix everything although it does give you more options.
