Suprman, you're obviously doing something right - you found the forum and you're volunteering. There is a place on the forum called something like Need a Ride/Need a Crew - check that out. People are willing to take complete strangers fishing just to have someone to hang out with. Some will ask for help with fuel, others wont. The majority of the time, if they own a fishing boat they have plenty of rods and reels and will most likely spot you one for the trip.

How long are you down here for?

So apparently if someone gives good, sound advice they are judging and preaching. Suprman, you can listen to whomever you want, but what I said is the most honest advice you're going to get. I simply cared enough about you to tell you what some may not want to hear.

If you'll notice I started by saying "I don't now your situation" which means I acknowledge that you could be paralyzed, blind, home for only a month, etc. Those circumstances would change my advice drastically. However, given the content of your post, you seem to simply be bored and looking for something fulfilling to do. Take it or leave it, but now is not the time to be "resting" for 6 months and living off of savings. Given the current economic situation of the US and of the world, the prudent thing for you to do is save, not spend. You can still do everything you want to do while home with your mom, but you will end your stint here with a positive cash balance rather than a negative one. 6 months is a very long time to eat your savings.

I suggest you call someone like Dave Ramsey and see what he thinks. I bet he'll judge and preach at you too.

if your into volunteering sign up with escambia search and rescue. different commands that may be of interest to you. dive ,boat, land, k-9 etc. helping people in a bad time gives me a lot of pride and satisfaction to know that i may have made a difference in someones life. but that is just me.

I always enjoy taking a ride up to Blackwater State Forest and driving down the backroads . It is very peaceful up there and you can always find you a nice swimmin hole to jump in and cool down.
