I dont know exactly how they do your back ground check here in Florida but in Kentucky it was simply a NICS check.
what about the training course? you can own one with no training. you cannot obtain a CCW permit unless you go through a certified training.

I used my DD214 instead of the class for time purposes, but I do want to go through the class that one of our members holds in Milton, I could be wrong but I thought I heard some one say it includes a killing house ( Which would be awesome) and that would make it worth it to me by itself. I miss going through the ones on the many Bases I have been stationed at and for free as well.

My answer was based on how you worded your last post.

You are correct, if you can own a gun, you should be able to obtain a CCW. The only exception is that anyone 18 years or older can own a gun but one has to be 21 and older to get a CCW. Also, anyone under 21 cannot purchase a handgun from a FFL dealer. However, he can purchase it from a private citizen.

No, I can't.

So we are on the same page here after all as Im just simply talking about DIS-qualifying factors, ie: felony convictions, misdemeanor domestic violence, mental disabilities, drug/alcohol abuse, etc.
